Bounce is thrilled to be celebrating Sugar and Spice this July. Along with artists at Meet & Make Spaces Tooting, we have been running a 10 month intergenerational project celebrating Tooting High Street. The aim of the project was to reflect how Tooting recovered after the war to become one of the coolest places to live according to Lonely Planet.
Over 300 local people have joined in workshops and projects. This July we are pleased to celebrate the results! The night features:
Our Tooting:Our Home
An original drama created by young people. A story about family life in Tooting, that travels decades in minutes.
The Tooting Tapestry
See the The Tooting Tapestry – an interactive celebration of residents love notes to Tooting.
I Am Tooting
Art and poetry inspired by the High Street created by children around Earlsfield & Tooting
Following the launch event, the tapestry and art will tour Tooting. Residents will have an opportunity to add patches or submit stories before the entire project is digitalised as a resource for local schools to celebrate their community heritage.
