Bounce Theatre Secures Funding for Bounce Club: A Revolutionary, Inclusive Space for Children

We are thrilled to announce that Bounce Theatre has been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to bring our exciting new project, Bounce Club, to life! This project represents a significant step in creating inclusive, creative spaces for children aged 7 to 11 in Wandsworth.

What is Bounce Club?

Bounce Club is an initiative designed to celebrate all forms of communication and nurture a community where children feel safe, valued, and inspired. Hosted at The Home Community Café in Earlsfield, sessions will run every Tuesday during term time, along with special holiday workshops and trips. Throughout the project we will be offering creative workshops that explore our sensory systems and unique sensory preferences. We will facilitate playful and artistic activities that promote emotional regulation and improved communication.

Our aim is to build a nurturing environment where neurodiverse and neurotypical children can play, learn, and grow together. The project will culminate in celebratory community events, led by the children's creativity.

Why Bounce Club Matters

At Bounce Theatre, we believe in the power of creativity to build bridges and break barriers. Bounce Club was born from conversations with families and children who highlighted the need for inclusive spaces that accommodate diverse needs and celebrate individuality. By providing a holistic, creative approach to inclusion, we aim to:

  • Reduce pressures on children’s mental health.

  • Build strong community connections.

  • Equip children with the confidence and tools to navigate the transition to secondary school.

A Community-Centred Vision

Bounce Club places the voices of children and families at its heart. Together, we will co-create a programme that not only addresses their needs but also becomes a model for inclusive practices in the arts and beyond. From playful storytelling to sensory workshops, every activity will emphasise collaboration, creativity, and connection.

This project is a testament to the incredible support of our community and partners. The funding allows us to cover essential costs, including staffing, materials, and celebratory events. It ensures that Bounce Club can make a meaningful, lasting impact.

What’s Next?

Bounce Club launches in January 2025. We can’t wait to welcome our first group of participants and begin this inspiring journey. Stay tuned for updates on our website and social media channels as we prepare for the big day.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for the vote of confidence in our work, and thank you to everyone who has supported us in making this dream a reality.

Together, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future for children in Wandsworth.
