Bounce Theatre is thrilled to be commissioned by Wandsworth Arts to deliver Speech Bubbles in Roehampton, as part of the Alton Renewal fund.
Since 2009, Speech Bubbles has been transforming communication outcomes for Key Stage 1 children (aged 5-7) struggling in mainstream classrooms. Currently running in 60 schools nationwide, the programme enhances speaking, listening, social interaction, and wellbeing through drama and theatre-making approaches.
Bounce will support three schools to join in this year, offering spaces for up to 60 children to participate in weekly workshops with artists.
In addition to these sessions, children will participate in a visual arts workshop to make an original collage commission to mark participating during the year Wandsworth is London Borough of Culture.
Staff from each school will also receive a tailored Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session on drama tools for communication.
The programme will culminate in an evaluation session in July 2025 and reveal of the visual art work.
